Lava previously teased an upcoming selfie phone and that device has become real today, as the Iris X5. That model features a 5 megapixel front camera, with flash, rivaling the Xperia C3, with a similar equipment on the camera front.
The new Lava product is priced at $145 and it relies on a 5 megapixel autofocus front camera with Omni BSI+ sensor. It also uses an 84 degree wide angle lens to capture quality selfies. Apparently, the Lava Iris X5 can be bought at brick and mortar stores all over the country and Lava has decided to partner with Amazon.in, for a larger distribution. They also throw in a special offer, a 16 GB memory card bundled, as well as a flip cover and screen protector for free.
The X5 integrates an 8 megapixel autofocus rear shooter, based on the Omni BSI-2 camera sensor and dual LED flash. The product packs a 5 inch HD IPS display and runs Android 4.4 KitKat, while using a 1.2 GHz quad core processor, as well as 1 GB of RAM and a 2100 mAh battery. There’s 8 GB of storage inside, a microSD card slot and on the connectivity side there’s 3G, dual SIM slots, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB 2.0 and USB OTG.
Iris X5 is available in grey, black and white.
