The Panasonic TOUGHPAD FZ-E1 handset has been certified by the GCF, as it gets ready to hit the shops in Europe. This model is a rugged one, as it’s clearly shown by the image below. The newcomer is LTE Category 4 compatible, with a download speed of up to 150 Mbps.
The TOUGHPAD FZ-E1 runs Windows Embedded, a mobile platform for business use, based on Windows Phone 8. Inside the device we find the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, clocked at 2.3 GHz and accompanied by a 5 inch HD display with a LCD panel. The phone has a 1.3 MP front camera and a 8 MP back camera with CMOS sensor. There’s wireless on board (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.0 and this handset is both dust and waterproof.
It’s compliant with the IP65/IP67 standards and can easily take a drop and impact, as shown by the MIL-STD-810G approval. Other specs include 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a huge 6200 mAh battery, a Li-Ion unit. This model functions in temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius to plus 60, including a built in heater. It will be priced starting at $1899.
