At some point in time Xiaomi said it wasn’t going to make another tablet aside from the Mi Pad. That was a pretty good device, in spite of the software not being so impressive. Now, after some rumors about a dual boot slate or even a Windows tablet, the supposed Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 has leaked again.

The shots you see here were posted on Weibo and they seem to indicate that the new Xiaomi slate will have a 9.7 inch or 10 inch diagonal. We expect a big resolution here, maybe something like 2560 x 1600 pixels and interestingly the device’s back camera also seems to have a flash. 10 inch tablets are not particularly known for taking good pictures.

We don’t have info about the newcomer, other than what you see. The UI looks rather old, since the virtual Android buttons feel more like KitKat than Lollipop. At least Google Play Store is preinstalled, unlike the first Mi Pad. The design feels like a Samsung Galaxy Tab model without the Home button and the slate seems to be made of plastic.

We advise you to take this leak with a grain of salt.
