Benjamin Tan, senior director, GCR Mobile Team Unit at Microsoft China recently announced that over 30 smartphones running Windows Mobile 6.5 will hit the market before the year end. These devices will be available from 15 handset vendors.
Tan made this announcement during a meetup with reporters in China and we know that the list of handset makers working with Microsoft’s new platform includes HTC, Acer, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, Toshiba and HP. The Redmond giant will also the get the support of major carriers worldwide, like AT&T, Orange, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Telstra, SKT and more.
HTC alone will offer two very promising and already famous WM 6.5 models, HTC Tilt2 (HTC Touch Pro2) and HTC Pure (HTC Touch Diamond2), while LG has promised to launch 3 WM 6.5 handsets this year alone.
