Samsung’s subsidiary, Samsung Mobile Display has recently begun mass production of AMOLED panels with touch sensors, so we’re bound for a visual treat on upcoming Omnia models. Integrating touch sensors in the new screens will provide users with high quality and vivid images, plus they’ll simplify the manufacturing process.
Samsung’s initiative is a world premiere, since this is the first company to place a touch sensor that’s 0.001 mm thick in an AMOLED substrate. The result will be a 3.3 inch WVGA display with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution and mass production will start in early March.
