The folks of wmexperts.com have a pretty nice article collecting all the rumours available till now, concerning the upcoming Windows Mobile 7 operating system. Apparently, WM7 will have more than one version and we’ve already found info regarding two devices that will run it: LG Apollo and HTC Obsession.

Keep in mind that the conclusions drawn from the initial article are all speculations and rumours, so don’t get too excited. Apparently, the new OS won’t be called Windows Mobile 7, but rather Seven, a rebranding that might mark the start of a new platform era. Also, we learn that the operating system will be available in a Business Edition and Media Edition, with the first being the nearest in completion.

Business Edition will be able to sync to cloud solutions with multiple handsets and your home PC, also supporting multiple user access. The advantage of this platform is also the fact that it allows OEMs more flexibility on customization and we expect a brand new version of Office to be on board too. From the rumours section, we also found out that HTC HD2 is reportedly running Seven with minimal lag, in its business version, so this is good news for its owners.

The minimum resolution for programs running on Seven is 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) and if you combine this with the potential of TouchFLO (slider tabs), you’ve got pure gold. Moving on to the Media Edition, turns out that this OS will be completed in 2011 and this is the real deal when it comes to innovation.

It’s also likely that we’ll see it demoed in Barcelona, during MWC 2010. Microsoft wants to get support for Silverlight, Mediaroom, Xbox Live, Twitter, Facebook and Zune Music on this platform, so it’ll be pretty hot. The devices that will run Seven? LG Apollo and HTC Obsession, with the later being already detailed here.

Apollo is a stunner, spec-wise, packing a 1.3 GHz processor, 1GB RAM/ROM, a 10 megapixel camera with HD video recording and a microSD card slot. For the full article regarding speculations and WM 7, read this piece.
