In a recent interview held at MWC 2010, Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs mentioned that we’ll be seeing a Snapdragon Nokia device running Symbian by the end of the year. It’s pretty interesting to see Nokia working with Qualcomm after their legal duels over wireless patents over the past years.
Also, since Symbian has gone open source, it’s easy for Nokia engineers to work with the platform and OEMs to use Qualcomm chipsets in order to run the OS without issues. It’s important to mention that a hardware manufacturer working with Qualcomm gets not only a CPU, but also WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and many types of connectivity (GSM/GPRS/UMTS and HSPA).
Now, let’s see what new version of Symbian the Nokia device will be running and what frequency the Snapdragon CPU will have.
