Apple recently published its 2010 Supplier Responsibility Progress Report, that includes a couple of pretty shocking practices coming from the Cupertino giant’s partners. We’re talking about underage workers employed by the manufacturing facilities, hazardous waste disposal and falsified records.
Three manufacturing facilities were mentioned as responsible for these issues and although Apple is probably not the one to blame, this certainly spoils their image. The underage labor will certainly draw the attention of the media and public, since it’s a pretty serious issue nowadays.
Apple announced that it plans on dealing with these “core violations”, through investigations and maybe sanctions, if irregularities are found again.
