Japanese carrier au KDDI recently introduced a new CDMA handset, dubbed the Toshiba IS02, a Windows Mobile QWERTY smartphone, that packs a large widescreen display with VGA resolution. There’s also a Snapdragon CPU on board and many interesting functions, detailed after the break.

The handset’s keyboard is a sliding one and the device also comes with Bluetooth, WiFi, navigation services, optical character recognition for barcodes and an electronic dictionary. Toshiba IS02 also uses an e-book reader and its specs list mentions Windows Mobile 6.5.3, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and a microSD slot.

This 9mm thick handset weighs 158 grams and its display is a 4.1 inch OLED with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. An electronic compass and GPS are also on board.
