The dudes of XDA have done it again, this time releasing an RUU file of the latest build of the Android 2.1 update for HTC Hero, in the Sprint CDMA version. Credits go out to the XDA Developers member Damageless and details about the build can be found after the break.

Damageless claims that you can’t simply extract the software, since this is a test release, so you’ll have to do an adb pull of your system directory after you flash it. You’ll need to use busybox, patch sh and su, while creating a recovery image. The XDA member also recommends adding Superuser.apk and mentions that you can use the Desire build.prop to get most protected apps working.

If this sounds like gibberish talk to you, get the full details from XDA and download the build from here.
