The war between Apple and Adobe continues and yes, it’s related to Flash technology, as usual. This time, Mike Chambers, Principal Product manager for the Flash Platform at Adobe spoke about the iPhone developers and Apple’s strict policies.
Apparently, the Cupertino giant is monopolizing apps and technologies, while devs are tied down to the iPhone platform and options are restricted. Adobe is seen as a company that encourages cross browser technologies and multiple platform/device development. Chambers ended the statement, saying that Adobe’s open platforms will take over the industry and Apple’s locked down platform will eventually lose the battle.
The answer came quickly, from Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller, who simply said that it’s the other way around, with the iPhone maker being open and using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and H.264, that are open and standard, while Adobe’s Flash is closed. Here we go again…
