Engadget’s iPhone 4 review unit has been in their possession for a while and after 5 days of use, the first signs of deterioration started to appear. Thus, we learn that the handset’s back side is pretty badly scratched, as shown by the following images.

It’s strange that Engadget mentions the Gorilla Glass technology, since the front side is protected by it, so could it be that there’s also a layer at the back? The tech blog claims that while the iPhone’s front panel is made of Gorilla Glass, the back side is made of hardened glass, but maybe not the same material.

Is this the start of a long list of flaws or just some editors being picky?
