Samsung Galaxy S is a bomb of a smartphone, there’s no doubt about that, but the item is about to get even hotter, courtesy of a software upgrade. Thus, the Android 2.1 handset will get Froyo, apparently on September 23, according to an unofficial source in Finland.

Samsung’s repairs department will receive new software in order to repair Froyo builds in September 22nd and on the following day it’ll release Android 2.2 for Galaxy S. Well, at least this will apply to Finland, but we’re hoping for an international rollout of the software upgrade.

You can always go with the leaked Froyo builds on the web, perform some flashing and take a chance with your smartphone… or patiently wait for the official upgrade. This is the international Galaxy S we’re talking about, so there’s no word on the US one yet.
