In spite of speculations that Nokia N8 wasn’t going to arrive on time, the uber cameraphone has just starting shipping today, on September 30, as promise by the Finns. This is the first Symbian^3 device, coming to a store near you and folks who pre-orded the handset must be thrilled right now.
The N8 comes after some delays, supposedly happening because Nokia was making the final adjustments on the software side. As shown in the images attached to this article, the handset’s units are being shipped and we learn that they’re coming from factories in China and Finland.
Large scale availability of the phone will take place in the following weeks and you have to know that the device comes with the latest Ovi Maps beta, that provides free walk and drive voice guided navigation for over 70 countries. Also, this service won’t require data connection. Have we mentioned that this is Nokia’s first 12MP cameraphone with Carl Zeiss optics?
Excited to get one?
