It’s one thing to launch a cool cameraphone like the Nokia N8 and another to add phone features to a pretty good digital camera. This is the case of the LG L-03C handset, that incorporates a very good camera, maybe the best on the mobile phone market. Too bad that sacrifices are made in the design department, to stuff a big camera sensor into the device.

Available only in Japan, through local carrier NTT DoCoMo, the LG L-03C uses a 12 megapixel CCD sensor, with an ISO range of 3200, a Pentax 1:3.6-5.5 lens and 3x optical zoom. Xenon flash and 720p video capture are also included, as well as a battery that provides 3.5 hours of talk time. The resulting handset is 22mm thick and 60mm wide, quite big for a normal pocket.

LG’s new cameraphone incorporates a 3 inch 800 x 480 pixel display and we’re really curious about the OS chosen for this phone, although it’s very unlikely we’ll ever see it in Europe or the US.
