We finally have a name for Nokia’s first MeeGo phone, previously dubbed the N9 and the N9-01… This info leaked during the Nokia Developer Day event, where CTO Rich Green was making a keynote that mentioned the successor to the N900, the N950. Well, this could be the long awaited Nokia slate, or the very first MeeGo smartphone.
The device will go live later in 2011 and you can check out Nokia’s 3 year ecosystem vision in the video below. We have no info on the design of this device, but it could adopt the touch-only candybar form factor that we previously associated with the N9. Nokia’s CTO also claimed that the N950 must be considered a development platform and less a commercial product.
Is this an excuse to put out an unfinished MeeGo?
