Before you get too excited about MeeGo coming to your Nokia N900, know that Jukka Eklund, developer edition product manager said that this arrival is meant to make the device usable for development. This means that the N900 will be used to testing the OS further, as it evolves towards the final product.

If you’re wondering what’s working on the platform right now, well here’s a list: basic handset UX, phone calls, SMS and web browsing. There hasn’t been much talk about MeeGo since Nokia partnered with Microsoft in order to use Windows Phone 7 as the main OS, so it’s always good news to hear that the OS is back on track.

We’re really curios to see that new MeeGo device that will be released before the year end, too…
