The duel between Adobe and Apple seems to never end and now there’s a new stage of this battle going on. Turns out that Adobe launched a convertor that turns Adobe Flash Professional (FLA) files into HTML. Dubbed Wallaby, the software can be downloaded from here and it can be seen in action in the video below.
After converting the files to HTML, you’ll be able to edit them with a HTML editor, such as Adobe Dreamweaver or even by hand, if you’re that skilled. You should remember that once the conversion takes place, not all features of Flash Professional will be kept in the HTML5 format. The software’s resulting files have been tested with iOS 4.2 and it was found that previous iOS versions had issues with Wallaby-created HTML files.
Zooming in and out can cause issues in the iOS browser, because of a bug and some artwork can display a faint border around the masked area. I’m guessing that Apple won’t hurry and solve these browser bugs, considering their lack of love for Adobe…
