Apple’s white iPhone almost seemed like an unicorn, with its many delays and problems, but here it is again, this time detailed by an official of the Cupertino giant. We’re talking about Phil Schiller, senior VP of worldwide product marketing, who tweeted that the launch of the white iPhone is coming this spring.

Schiller also describes the phone as “a beauty” and since spring was mentioned, we expect the product to pop up somewhere between March and May 2011. This is around 9 months later than the initial launch of the iPhone 4 and a couple of months before the expected announcement of the iPhone 5. It’s still not clear whether or not Apple will sell the white iPhone 4 before the next generation of handsets, or at the same time.

As far as the delay is concerned, this has been blamed on production issues, that include the white case affecting the quality of the photos taken with the iPhone’s camera.
