During this week’s CTIA 2011 conference, Sprint announced the HTC EVO 3D smartphone, a first for HTC, since it comes with both a dual core CPU and 3D capability. We’re dealing with an Android 2.3 device with a 4.3 inch qHD display, with a 960 x 450 pixel resolution and support for 3D viewing.
Under the hood there’s an impressive 1.2GHz dual core Qualcomm 8660 processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. You can add an extra 40GB to the storage, courtesy of a microSD card. At the back, there’s a dual 5 megapixel camera with support for 3D video capture and 720p HD video. Upfront, the HTC EVO 3D packs a 1.3 megapixel cam for videochatting.
There’s also a camera button on board, which may matter the most for some users. No info on pricing, but we know that the product will be reaching the stores this summer. Also, for those wondering, the screen is the 3D glass-free kind, so you don’t need extra accessories to view tridimensional content.
