Although one of last week’s rumors had the Motorola Droid X2 coming today, that didn’t happen, so we’re in for another period of waiting for the device to arrive. Motorola Droid X2 is now supposed to hit the stores on May 26, packing a dual core CPU and a 4.3 inch qHD screen.

The info comes from leaked documents that suggest both the launch date and hardware features of the device. HDMI, 1080p Mirror Mode, an 8MP camera and 720p video capture are all mentioned together with the rest of the details. Verizon could make available pre-orders for the Droid X2 earlier than estimated, with shipping rumored to be available on May 19, but I wouldn’t bet on that.

What’s strange about this smartphone is that in spite of its hardcore features, it still runs Android 2.2 Froyo, complete with MOTOBLUIR UI, reason enough to scare users away, if you ask me.
