HP just gifted its Mini 1000 Notebook with 3G through a simple and efficient add-on method. It’s a pretty good move to make, especially as its competitor, Dell, did the same with its Inspiron Mini 9 notebook.

This will make it possible for users to go either the Verizon or AT&T route and select EV-DO or HSDPA modem, depending on which is a better match for them. Once selecting the modem, the next natural step is that of signing a contract with the corresponding operator.

The only downside for this might be that of the USD 200 price, from the one of USD 400, of the notebook and makes a pretty pricy sum, for having 3G.
