In case you didn’t know, buying a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet on AT&T or using one on their network is as good as not owning a BlackBerry phone to pair the slate with. You might be aware that in order to trigger some of the PlayBook’s functions, you need a RIM phone and a BlackBerry Bridge connection.
Now, AT&T finally allowed the pairing of BlackBerry phones and tablets, in order to access stuff such as the calendar, contacts and email. While other carriers had already allowed that, AT&T was strangely behind with it. Supposedly AT&T wasn’t satisfied with the pairing app, but now they’ve settled and offer the full functionality of the PlayBook.
The carrier approved the bridging app, that’s available right now for download. You’ll find it in BlackBerry App World starting this week.
