Remember the Acer W4 handset? This Windows Phone unit was spotted a bunch of times during Microsoft presentations and now it’s back with an official name: Allegro. Acer Allegro will be launched in Europe around Christmas time and it will be priced at 299 euro.
This price tag is pretty good, especially considering this is a Mango OS handset, but the specs are pretty dated, if you ask me. They’re basic enough to run WP7.5 and include a 3.6 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and HSPA + quad band connectivity.
The brain of the smartphone is a Qualcomm MSM8255 1GHz processor, the same one used on the Xperia Play and the features list also includes WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, DLNA and 8GB of storage. Now let’s see what Nokia can pit against this appealing model, both price wise and specs wise.
