RIM has just unveiled a new Bold and Curve model, the 9790 and 9380 respectively. These are new members of the OS 7 series and the new Bold unit continues the legacy of the Bold 9780, but brings in a 2.44 inch touchscreen + keyboard combo. Inside the new Bold there’s a 1GHz CPU and its QWERTY keyboard looks pretty comfortable to use. There’s also 8GB of memory available and a microSD card slot, while the new Curve is all about the touchscreen, so no physical keys. The BlackBerry Curve 9380 features a 3.2 inch, 480 x 360 pixel resolution, a 5 megapixel camera and both these newcomers will come with NFC and augmented reality support.
Also, they’ll offer from the start a bunch of preinstalled applications such as the BlackBerry Messenger, Documents To GO Premium, BlackBerry Protect and more. Pricing and availability are mysterious, although a debut before the year is out is very likely. When will RIM finally get rid of these antique formats of design and hardware?
