We’ve just received our own unit of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S for review purposes and I have to say I’m very pleased with it. The device is still curved, still keeps the form factor of the first Arc, but it brings on some hardware upgrades. Here’s what the package and handset look like:
This Android Gingerbread device comes inside the usual green box from SE, that includes a set of manuals, headphones, charger and microUSB cable. This device is most certainly a candidate to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade next year, since it’s more powerful when it comes to CPU than its predecessor. What bothered me is that it still comes with 512MB of RAM… that’s frankly a pity.
Something I really loved about the Arc was the fact that its camera was really, really good and some people were saying that this is actually the same photo sensor as the one on the iPhone 4S, although I can’t vouch for that. I expect the Arc S to impress me even more and throw in some minor software gimmicks, to be considered upgrades from the original Xperia Arc.
