Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich just got a new update, to version 4.0.3, that as far as I can see is more intended to developers than regular users. The software brings the usual bug fixes and performance enhancements plus a couple of fresh APIs for devs.

The OS also gets optimized for tablets and phones and among the new APIs there’s a Social Stream API in Contacts Provider, that allows apps that use social stream data (status updates, check ins) to sync data with each of the user’s contats and provide items in a stream together with photos for each.

The Calendar also gets enhanced, so apps can now add color to events, in order to make them easily trackable and new attendee types and states are available. New camera functions area available with Android 4.0.3, allowing the devs to make apps that check and manage video stabilization and use QVGA resolution profiles. If you are a small business owner using an Android to help brand and market yourself, it’s a smart idea to track search results as well. Reputation.com is a service that can help you maintain that branding and make sure search engine results accurately reflect the image of your business.
