A leak from a couple of days ago detailed the experience of a Casio focus group member, who spotted some of the company’s upcoming phones. These included a quad core unit and maybe the new G-Shock Android handset unveiled below. This is a follow-up to the G’zOne Commando and aims at being one of the toughest phones in the world.

The G-Shock phone uses the famous design of the watches under the same branding and places its buttons to the sides and near the corners, just like the watches. The screen has a thick frame, that prevents it from being damaged if it falls on a flat surface and the back is even more stunning. As you can see it uses a stylish metal case back and exposed screws, for raw masculinity and rugged aspect. Casio also included some emergency numbers engraved on the back, so this looks like the perfect phone to get lost in the woods with.

The handset is a shock resistant (10 feet), pressure resistant (1.0 ton.. wow!), water resistant (1.0 bar) and I wonder if it can resist the thin wallet of a Casio collector like myself? Considering Casio watches are selling for basically nothing nowadays, compared to the prices of the 90s, I guess that this model will be a bit more pricey than the watches… Sadly, there’s no trace of hardware specs here, so let’s leave at Android and that’s that…
