The guys of SmartPhoneGeeks and the usual insider Eldar Murtazin have managed to score a new picture of a leakedNokia phone. I’m talking about the Nokia 801, supposedly shown below. Of course, we’re taking the info with a huge grain of salt and being as cautious as possible, since Nokia wouldn’t want overuse the same polycarbonate case design too many times.

The supposed specs of this Symbian Belle unit include a 4 inch AMOLED ClearBlack display with a 640 x 360 pixel resolution, a 1.4 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. There’s also a 12 megapixel camera on board with dual LED flash and support for 1080p video recording. Nokia has used similar hardware for different phones models before, like they did with the Lumia 710 and the Nokia 603, that look very much alike. So, what do you think, is the Nokia 801 real and will get Symbian Carla?

I tend to believe it’s a mockup, but if it’s real I expect some MWC 2012 hands on quality time and maybe some accompanying devices to make this into a series. If this trend goes on, don’t be surprised if at some point we’ll even see the polycarbonate design format going with Android…
