Dutch site gsmhelpdesk.nl just published what they call a press photo of the Samsung Galaxy S III, that looks quite a bit similar to the one here, but from another angle. They said they got the pic from a reliable anonymous source, that also provided some specifications and release date.
The source says that the Samsung Galaxy S III comes with a 12 megapixel camera, an LED flash and some very cool options such as slow motion, time lapse and 1080p video recording. The videos have a very high frame rate, even reaching as high as 60 fps when filming and there’s also a 1.3MP cam upfront with 720p calls support via Skype. The screen is a 4.7 inch HD unit, so it has a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and the density of the pixels is 313 ppi, for a very bright and clear set of pictures. The technology behind this display is Super AMOLED Plus HD.
Samsung Galaxy S III will also come with a 1750 mAh battery and that power source will be removable. AS far as design goes, the device is 8mm in thickness and weighs around 125 grams, plus it’s 131mm long and 64mm wide. The CPU is confirmed to be a quad core 1.5 GHz unit and on the inside you’ll also find 32GB of internal memory and 1 GB of RAM. No idea if there’s a microSD card slot here or not and moving on to the connectivity side, we get dual carrier HSPA 3G networks with speeds of up to 42 Mbps. Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, WiFi, microUSB 2.0 and a HDMI output are also there, as well as DLNA and WiFi Direct.
Galaxy S III runs Android 4.0 and it’s supposed to launch on May 22nd, just like the rumors said a couple of days ago when that press photo came out. So… real this time or not? And here’s the pic from last week for comparison sake:
