A recent series of benchmarks of the AT&T version of the HTC One X showed us that the Snapdragon S4 CPU beats the Tegra 3 quad core chipset. This was one of the most appreciated handsets at MWC 2012 and as you may know, the European version of the handset comes with a quad core Tegra 3 processor, while the AT&T one has a dual core Snadpragon S4 chipset.
The US version is also known as HTC One XL and the Snapdragon CPU is actually a better choice, since apparently is beats the Tegra 3 in benchmarks. User Phonegeek of the Android Central Forums compared the two versions of the smarpthone using Vellamo and Quadrant Benchmarks. The HTC One XL beats the ASUS Transformer by quite a bit and it even doubles the score of the Galaxy Nexus in both benchmarks. However, rest assured that these are mere theoretical comparisons and in real life you won’t feel that double performance between the Galaxy Nexus and HTC One XL.
It’s interesting to see the Prime surpassed so easily, since it was a point of reference in such tests, especially with Android 4.0 installed. You must also know that the Snapdragon S4 version of the One X brings LTE connectivity as an extra compared to the Tegra 3 unit. I wonder if buying one in the States and using it in Europe is a good deal…
