Samsung has just trademarked 3 new Galaxy series handsets, fresh after 4 other new phones were also tradermaked earlier this month. The newcomers are Galaxy Premier, Galaxy Grand and Galaxy Next. I wonder which of these is actually the Galaxy S III for the US market, since you all know how varied are the names for the Galaxy S II and Galaxy S in the States…

Galaxy Next is actually a handset that was launched last year as a very low end phone… so maybe this name is a mistake or meant for some other product segment than actual phones. Maybe a tablet, or maybe a smartablet like the Galaxy Note 2? Anyway Samsung doesn’t have a hard time repeating names, since at MWC 2012 they’ve unveiled a second phone named Galaxy Beam, although there already was a Beam model out there. Weeks ago we saw new brandings Stellar and Halo reaching the Galaxy series and they sounded  pretty high end.

Now with handsets called Premier or Grand, I can only think of quad core, LTE, 12MP camera, 720p screens and such things. Are we in for a surprise involving the Galaxy S III actually not being called that way? It would be the mother of all rebrandings… and a pretty cool idea.
