Skype announced recently that it’s now compatible with Android phones and over 100 handsets using Java. The device belong to brands like LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson and it’s Skype Mobile beta we’re talking about, in its lite version.
Among the features of the new version there’s the option of making Skype to Skype calls to users anywhere on the globe, or you can send and receive instant messages to and from contacts and groups. Skype calls are available at low rates, either to contacts using landlines or mobile phones.
Skype Mobile allows you to receive calls on your online personal number and also allows you to see when your contacts are online and available. This lite version uses airtime minutes and data connections for calls (calling, receiving) and for contact updating, plus other similar activities.
