Remember those leaks that detailed a mystery Sony phone called Xperia Tapioca? Well, now the device is official, as the Sony Xperia tipo, that has just been announced. It will come in both a single SIM and dual SIM version and it’s detailed in the videos and lines below.

We’re dealing here with a handset that packs a 3.2 inch HVGA (320 x 480 pixel) display in both the single and dual SIM versions, plus an 800 MHz single core processor. The display has scratch resistant mineral glass to protect it. The CPU is made by Qualcomm and at the back of the Tipo we find a 3.2 megapixel camera, while inside there’s a 1,500 mAh battery, that Sony promises to deliver over 24 hours of continuous usage. Android 4.0 ICS comes preinstalled, but you probably guessed that from the 3 capacitive buttons below the display.

Sony Xperia tipo and Xperia tipo dual, the dual SIM unit will be released globally in Q3 2012. Pricing remains unknown! Xperia Tipo Dual has a dedicated button on the side, that allows it to switch between SIMs, a very cool feature, if you ask me. 512MB of RAM and 2.5GB of user storage are also on board, if you thought we forgot about memory.
