Since CES 2013 and MWC 2013 are coming, it’s about time we started talking about new flagships from major handset makers. One of them is the HTC M7, a future high end device, that’s expected to follow the HTC One X and replace it as a top of the line model. My only question is: won’t this cannibalize the Droid DNA/Butterfly?
HTC M7 is supposed to debut at Mobile World Congress 2013, packing a 4.7 inch Full HD screen, with a huge pixel density of 468 PPI, that’s over 40% higher than the one of the iPhone 5. It will also share the optical lamination technology of the iPhone 5, just so you know. Also, you should know that the screen of the new flagship relies on a new technology called SoLux instead of Super LCD2, bringing better viewing angles, outdoor viewing and color accuracy.
The M7 will be based on a second generation quad core Qualcomm processor at 1.7 GHz, with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash storage. This model will also have LTE connectivity and it’s expected to ship with Android Jelly Bean on board with the HTC Sense 5.0 skin on top. The camera will also be upgraded, to a 13 megapixel CCD, with a larger f/2.0 lens. The new and improved image sensor, dubbed Cinesensor will offer both increased image quality and improved features like super slow mo and video HDR.
You should also know that Beats created a special amplifier for this device, plus a feature to increase call clarity, called Clear Words. The smartphone sounds great, I have to say and I can’t wait to check it out at MWC.
