CES 2013 is totally here, with companies such as Huawei and Samsung already holding events right now. Huawei took its time and unveiled a brand new device, a 6.1 inch phablet that runs Android OS. This is an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean unit with a 6.1 inch 720p screen, an 8 megapixel camera and a 1.5 GHz quad core CPU.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II was considered the biggest devices bordering phablets/phones and now the diagonal size is even bigger, at 6.1 inches. The resolution could be a bit bigger here, so 720p is a tad underwhelming. The device also includes a large 4050 mAh battery, 2 GB of RAM and Magic Touch technology, meaning that just like on the Nokia Lumia 920 you can use the handset while wearing gloves.
Huawei Ascend Mate relies on Huawei’s Emotion UI on top of Android and it also has a one handed mode that should allow you to easily use the phablet with a single hand, although you can barely hold such a behemoth with your tiny paw.
