Though on the market a few years back with some mid to low-level feature phones, Philips hasn’t been given the opportunity to get into the Android smartphone business. Now they get a chance with their plans on releasing a dual-SIM device – namely the Philips W8355.

Philips W8355 is an Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone offering a 5.3-inch touchscreen panel with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.  The dual-SIM device is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz chip with 512 MB of RAM – a mid-level configuration able to offer the smartphone balanced performance while pushing a moderate number of pixels.

The smartphone offers the already standard features most devices provide out of the box. There is 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 5 MP rear side camera module. The device’s dimensions are 147,6 x79x10, 9 mm. It will be available in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America. China and Russia are also likely to get it.
