The Sony SmartWatch is actually an item of 2012, but it’s welcome in 2013, as people get more acquainted with it at MWC 2013. We enjoyed a demo of the accessory at the sony MWC 2013 booth. The device is priced at $150 and it’s pretty stylish.

This smartwatch pairs with Android phones via Bluetooth and uses a free app available on Google Play. Owners of Sony handsets may find that app preinstalled. The device allows you to read emails, texts and check out social updates on the device. There are dozens of mini apps for the watch, including stuff like Facebook and Google Maps, so you can have a lot of fun with it.

The Sony SmartWatch packs a 1.3 inch OLED display and probably the coolest feature it offers is the ability to use the watch as a remote for your smartphone’s camera, telling it when to snap a picture. The companion supports a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels, it uses Bluetooth 2.1 and standard USB charging, providing up to 4 days of battery life. The device’s bands come in pink, white, mint, grey and blue.
