Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has it on good authority that the next iPhone, or better said iPhones will debut in June. The analyst has a good track record when it comes to Apple hardware launches. He forecasts the Cupertino handset lineup in the following lines.
We’ll get an iPhone 5 successor, together with a low cost handset model in June, ahead of a July launch. This well connected analyst seems to be sure that Apple will introduce two separate iPhones, one being a less expensive version made of fiberglass and plastic. The two models will also be differentiated by their hardware specs, with the advantage on the side of the iPhone 5S.
Kuo predicted that the iPhone 5S will use several next gen Apple technologies, such as a faster Apple A7 SoC, a Smart Flash with white or yellow LEDs and a fingerprint security chip sourced from the company’s acquisition of AuthenTec. The iPhone 5S will use the same thin aluminum chassis as the iPhone 5, but it will also pack a bigger 1600 mAh battery. The lower cost model will be a bit bigger and heavier and it will feature LTE, among others.
