1080p smartphones are all the rage right now, with all major companies jumping on this bandwagon and even a few smaller ones. Neo is among them, with the cheapest 1080p handset in the world, the Neo N003, priced at sub $150.

The device leaked last week and today we have a hands on photo, a price and some specs. The photo doesn’t reveal anything surprising, aside from the usual format of a rectangular handset and in case you’re wondering, its price tag is $144 and the device will come in two versions. We get a quad core MT6589 processor on board, a 5 inch 1080p display and a 13 megapixel camera.

We have no idea if there will be 2 GB of RAM on board, which is customary for devices with such CPUs and screens. I supposed we should also get 16 GB of storage, but considering the price I’m sure sacrifices were made. Maybe in the RAM area, or maybe the storage area, or maybe the quality of the materials? Seeing this price makes me wonder why people pay $700 for a model made by HTC or Samsung…
