Not only the HTC One has been cloned in China by the brand HDC, but also the HTC Butterfly. Its evil twin is called the UMi S1 and it’s shown in action in the video below. We’re dealing with a quad core phone with a MT6589 processor.
The handset looks almost identical to the HTC Butterfly/Droid DNA and even the red and black color scheme is adopted. There’s also a 5 inch display on board, but I can’t guarantee that the Full HD resolution is here. HTC Butterfly was the very first Full HD phone and although today we live in a world filled with 1080p handsets, we have to give it credit for that.
The UMi S1 runs on a quad core Mediatek CPU, with 1 GB of RAM and with a 5 inch 720p screen. At the back there’s a 12 megapixel camera and upfront a surprising 5 megapixel shooter. I have a feeling that this front camera is inferior to the front one on the HTC One, that’s actually very good. Chinese retailer Antelife is listing the UMi S1 available for preorder for a price of $229.99.
