Just a few days ago we covered news about the upcoming Pantech smartphone first unveiled by the manufacturer in a teaser – banner. We even had some specs for the device that seemes were accurate as the device offers specs on par with the HTC One or the US Galaxy S IV.
Probably the main highlight of the new Pantech Vega Iron smartphone is its design. The device offers what is likely the thinnest bezel (2.4mm) and a stunning 5-inch 1080p display that seems to cover the whole front of the device. The other asset of the design is the metal frame that gives the device a more premium feel and more tough in case of accidents. There is also a notifications LED with 7 states for the different circumstances.
On the inside of the Iron Vega there is a quad-core Snapdragon 600 chip, clocked at 1.7 Ghz and with the Adreno 320 GPU. The 2GB of RAM should suffice for advanced multitasking and the 32 GB of onboard storage are more than enough for media and apps. The manufacturer advertises the 13 MP rear shooter as offering stunning clarity and includes multiple software features. There is also a 2150mAh battery, Android 4.1.2 and enhanced WiFi connectivity for speeds up to 1 GB. Courtesy of the Qualcomm chip, there is also the Fast Charge feature, allowing for a full recharge in about 87 minutes.
At the moment it is unclear whether the device will go on sale outside of Korea, though I’m sure if it does it will be the target for many willing customers.
