Symbian is probably the most popular smartphone platform out there, but there should be an easier way of getting apps for it nowadays. Since Apple App Store showed the world the need for such app downloading services, every handset maker is readying its own version of the Store.
RIM’s got one, Android’s also got one and Nokia will announce a mobile applications portal at Mobile World Congress 2009.
As far as we know, thanks to Eldar Murtazin, the store has been launched in closed mode and it’s been tested and tweaked. The distribution and revenue sharing model between app developers and Nokia looks particularly promising, but we’ll probably learn more about this at MWC.
