Sharp had a busy day today, unveiling a new phone and tablet, both with IGZO screens and quad core Snapdragon CPUs. The handset will come to NTT DoCoMo, one of Japan’s biggest carriers and the new model is called the Sharp Aquos Phone Zeta SH-06E.

The device is waterproof and features a 1080p IGZO display with a 4.8 inch diagonal, Android 4.2 as the OS and a 1.7 GHz quad core Snapdragon 600 processor. There’s also NFC on board, WiFi, a TV tuner and a 2600 mAh battery. At the back we’ve got a 13.1 megapixel camera and you should also know that this phone will come in blue, red and white hues.

Sharp Aquos Phone Zeta SH-06E packs a 2.1 megapixel front camera, supports Xi LTE, reaching 100 Mpbs download and 37.5 Mbps upload. As far as the release date is concerned, May 24th is the period when this model will hit the Japanese market. No idea what the price will be, but it may be around $400 to $500.
