It’s rare that we see handsets with preinstalled Android 4.2, even now, many months after the OS has been released. It’s also strange when a minor company performs the launch of a smartphone with this OS on board, solid specs and a reasonable price tag. Such is the case of the Xolo Q600 phone.
Coming straight out of India, from the company that launched the first Intel CPU-based phone, the newcomer is the latest in the QCORE series and it comes with a $150 price tag. For that kind of money, you get a 4.5 inch 854 x 480 pixel display, a 1.2 GHz quad core processor and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. At the back there’s a 5 megapixel camera and upfront we find a 0.3 megapixel shooter.
The Xolo Q600 comes with dual SIM dual standby support and it’s bundled with the Xolo Secure App, that allows users to lock their phones and track them remotely. The handset supports 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, it has 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of storage and a 2000 mAh battery, with up to 333 hours of standby time.
