There’s a new Windows Phone 8.1 handset in town and this leak seems to be related to a model that may well be Nokia Lumia 530. A device has been found on GFXBench, a model named RM-1027, that packs a modest display and a modest CPU.
This is supposed to be a lower end Windows Phone 8.1 handset, one that supports a 800 x 480 pixel resolution and relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU with Adreno 305 GPU. Up until now the WP8.1 range from Nokia included models like Lumia 630, Lumia 930 and Lumia 635, but no real low end handset was part of the lineup. The Nokia Lumia 520 was a huge hit because of its low price and got a slight upgrade through the Lumia 525.
Now it’s time for another upgrade, one that also brings Windows Phone 8.1 in the mix and probably stuff like more RAM and a better camera, if you allow me to speculate. By the way, the RM-1027 model seems to score more in the GFXBenchmark test than the Nokia Lumia 525.
