Nokia X is a big premiere for the whole world of mobile tech, since it’s the time Nokia and Android meet. This is not the Android you were expecting, but still a step in the right direction. It lacks Play Store, but at least we got to play with it, as shown in the unboxing video below.
You can purchase the device from here, priced at $120 and up, which is a decent bargain for it. This first Nokia Android handset comes inside a blue box, typical for Nokia, with a charger, a pair of headphones identical to the ones of the Lumia 520, manuals and the battery inside. We’re testing the dual SIM model right now and it measures 10.4 mm in thickness and weighs 128.7 grams. Its display is a 4 incher IPS LCD with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution and up to 2 fingers multitouch maximum.
The storage is 4 GB and we also get 512 MB of RAM, a microSD card slot with support for an extra 32 GB and on the connectivity side there’s HSDPA at 7.2 Mbps. The back camera lacks a flash and offers a 3.15 MP resolution, while upfront we don’t get a camera. The OS here is Android 4.1.2 with Nokia UI on top and inside the device there’s a Snapdragon S4 Play CPU, a dual core one clocked at 1 GHz.
Finally, there’s a 1500 mAh battery inside and we’ll be back in a few days to detail the goodies available on this device, games included.
