The latest Sailfish update came this month and it takes the OS up to version 1.0.7.16. The Jolla Users YouTube channel did a quick hands on that you can check out below. Also codenamed Saapunki, this update enables 4G LTE connectivity, among others.

Facebook notifications are also included in the experience now, offered as a sub page in the events view. You can also like and comment in that area. There’s folder support in the app launcher area and new accounts for calDAV providers include Yahoo!, MemoToo, Fruux and OwnCloud. Sailfish OS 1.0.7.16 offers two way sync of Google contacts, provides support for uploading files in Browser and allows switching between browser tabs, plus it remembers your last position and no longer reloads the tab content.

There’s also HTML5 fullscreen support in Browser and the option to personalize shortcuts on the lockscreen pull down menu. Quick Scrolling is enabled in Sailfish views, there’s SIM application ToolKit support and quick access to Sailfish OS updates (Settings/System/Sailfish OS updates). The usual bug fixes are included, like the reboot issue fixes and security vulnerabilities.
