Smartisan T1 is one of those Chinese phone that cannot be considered a clone. It stands on its own and it can be considered a premium smartphone, thanks to its specs and looks. This model is now ready to ship as confirmed by the image below posted on Weibo, showing packages of the handset being prepared.
Announced almost two months ago, this model runs Android in a custom version and it relies on a 5 inch Full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Said protection is applied to both the front and back and this model integrates a Snapdragon 801 CPU, 2 GB of RAM and 16/32 GB of storage. It has a 2570 mAh battery, no microSD and no 4G LTE sadly. The price tag is around $480 and a $560 LTE model will also be launched in the following months.
Smartisan T1 was unveiled during a special event in front of 5000 people and millions of online viewer. The handset also integrates a 13 megapixel camera with Sony’s IMX214 sensor and a front 5 megapixel selfie cam. T1 is also good with acoustics, using TI’s OPA2604 op am chip, that gives an audio frequency response and low distortion like the one achieved by the acclaimed Vivo Xplay 3S.
Finally this model measures 8.23 mm in thickness and weighs a heavy 167 grams. Glass covers the entire front and back side of the device, with a proportion of 83.8% of the whole body.
