Japan Display (JDI) just announced the fact that the IPS-NEO panels will enter now in mass production. These panels are destined for mobile products and they’re characterized as offering higher contrast, a better color reproduction, and wide viewing angles.

Thanks to a photo alignment method introduced on these panels, that uses highly transmissive liquid cristal, the power consumption is reduced significantly. Among other benefits of these panels is included an increased transmissivity by at least 10% and improved yields.

Yet, Japan Display (JDI) hasn’t announced when these panels will be seen on actual products on the market. However, JDI said that they will be steadily introduced and expanded to other lines.
